Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Pay: $25-$32 an hour depending on experience- OT available!

Location: Miami, Florida

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines by combining your expertise in mechanics, electrical circuits, and electronics. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of equipment, as well as facilitating production line changeovers while adhering to food safety regulations. You'll work on a variety of machinery and electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and minimizing downtime.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with both AC (120/240V) and DC (12, 24V & 48V) systems to complete electrical installations according to plans, specifications, and NEC code requirements.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform immediate repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment controlled by PLCs, variable frequency drives, and converters.

  • Install, adjust, and maintain AC and DC devices, sensors, PLCs, circuitry, pneumatic control systems, and related equipment.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and report findings to supervision.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various electrical and mechanical plant equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, boilers, and electronic components.

  • Repair or replace defective parts or systems, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

  • Execute production equipment setups and changeovers, ensuring operational readiness to minimize disruptions.

  • Install and set up new equipment as needed, ensuring proper operation.

  • Implement controls modifications to enhance production line performance.

  • Perform mechanical modifications and upgrades to machinery as required.

  • Fabricate mechanical parts and perform welding, pipefitting, and millwright functions.

  • Estimate materials needed for jobs and provide parts requirements to Maintenance Manager in advance.

  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance work orders while maintaining operational standards.

  • Maintain a safe work environment, following SOPs and wearing PPE as required.

  • Perform facility maintenance tasks related to electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting work.

  • Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and safety of maintenance equipment, tools, and work areas.

  • Be available for extended or weekend hours and respond to emergency breakdowns as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Technical associate level or equivalent; additional technical certification or vocational training is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial production setting.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, control systems, automation, and pneumatic systems.

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Understanding of metal fabrication, mechanical parts assembly, and tool sharpening.

  • Familiarity with welding and cutting practices.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with production teams and stakeholders.

  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
