Skyline Steel, LLC Business Development II in Middletown, New Jersey

Champion the company’s metals process and quality and cost improvements. Develop new value-added products and work with customers to provide training and resolve technical issues. Identify and develop strategic opportunities for the steel foundation products market. Responsible for overseeing the company’s northeast region (not a sales position). Utilize technical expertise to build relationships and partner with our clients to determine the optimal steel foundation solution on a wide variety of applications. Develop professional relationships with clients in the industry; develop and manage value-engineered proposals in close collaboration with clients; provide educational opportunities to the industry on the technical aspects of a product line; and support the regional outside sales team and other teammates. Review steelmaking and shop processes to improve their metallurgical characteristics; improve yield and reduce costs; and implement new practices to produce new products and grades to expand the market and offer newer materials for the steel construction industry. Provide support in the maintenance and proper operations of testing and analytical instruments; review and process customer claims; and provide metallurgical support to sales and marketing. Up to 50% of domestic travel.Requires a Master of Science degree, in Metallurgical, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering and three (3) years of relevant work experience. Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering and five (5) years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Master's degree in the fields listed above and three (3) years of relevant work experience. Skills must include demonstrated experience with and knowledge of construction plans, geotechnical reports for understanding soil properties and project requirements; writing and reading project specifications; steel design; and working with government agencies and compliance with agency standards. The position further requires experience in Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), statistical analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and research/industry experience in metallurgical testing/evaluation for technical presentations to stakeholders.
