General Description

Circle K Service is a full service repair shop for medium and heavy duty diesel trucks and tractors. We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician / Mechanic to troubleshoot and perform hands-on duties related to repair and maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment; fabricate parts, and perform vehicle inspections. 

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess basic mechanic tools as required to work on class 8 trucks (heavy duty)
• Valid driver's license
• State of Michigan license required in Heavy Duty fields
• ASE Certifications are desirable
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current and prior experience performing medium and heavy truck maintenance and repair
• Welding training and experience
• Experience with hydraulic repairs and diesel engine repair
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Commitment to Preventive Maintenance.
• Must be able to lift moderate to heavy weight
• Works well in a Team and on Own Self-Motivated

Job Duties:

• Repair trucks, trailers and other equipment in a timely manner
• Ability to weld and fabricate parts
• Communicate effectively to ensure efficient repair and maintenance performance
• Inspect equipment; report mechanical issues and problems to shop management
• Maintain compliance with company policies and OSHA/DOT/MOT/CCOHS/OSHA Intl./ JWC regulations, as applicable

• Participate in safety programs

   Physical Abilities:

• Physical agility to include, but may not be limited to, walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting up to 80 pounds, pushing, pulling, stretching, climbing and balancing

• Visual acuity, including but may not be limited to, close up and distance, peripheral sight, ability to discern color
• Manual dexterity
• Ability to work around fumes and petroleum products
