Role Headline
As a Commercial Project Manager, you will manage financial and commercial aspects of local and international RSS EPS EMEA Contracts. You will work with the Bid and Project Execution management teams to execute projects within Siemens guidelines, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuously improving contract profitability. Your responsibilities will include detailed financial analysis, contract reviews, management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will also be responsible for ensuring standards and lessons learned are implemented for projects in other countries with the same Enterprise Customers. The position will be based in Siemens South Africa, Midrand. Hours and location based on local guidelines.
Responsibilities of the Role
Ensures the accuracy of project books and records, including recording of such in the appropriate systems (e.g. SAP) ensuring compliance with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines, local GAAP requirements, and international and local contracts.
Coordinates project reporting and controlling activities in contracts/projects under your scope.
Supports the Project Manager and ensures that the financial results are managed according to set targets and with due professional care. Optimization of the project gross profit, cash flow and assets and financing instruments.
Actively communicates with customer's commercial representatives and manages the solution of commercial issues.
Together with the Project Manager proactively executes contract and claim management on the project, including involvement and cooperation with the assigned Contract Manager.
Supports the Project Manager and Bid Manager in identifying, evaluating and assessing risk and opportunities, strategies and response activities – taking over the full responsibility for all commercial risks and opportunities.
Supports Project Manager regarding the selection of partners / subcontractors in close alignment with Supply Chain Management.
Represents the project in the relevant decision boards internally and externally.
Agrees targets with commercial project staff and delegates defined responsibilities and authority.
Implements and manages standard policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with LoA guidelines for all commercial aspects.
Qualifications and Experience
Completed Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent).
Demonstrated Professional experience in various commercial functions, commercial project management etc.
Min 5 – 8 years of experience within the project environment, preferably including experience dealing with solution projects and those with foreign content (Cross-Border/International), of which at least 4 years as commercial project manager with budget responsibility for a project
Detailed and advanced knowledge of financial and accounting principles/knowledge (IFRS, GAAP), tax, insurances, Permanent Establishment, NCM, hedging, etc.
Contracts management experience and understanding (NEC3/FIDIC)
Certification as CPM@Siemens for C-Level Projects, or alternatively IPMA C Certification (Advantageous)
Must be willing to travel
