Job Purpose

  • Drive Medical Operational Excellence across our clinics by optimizing patient flows and clinical processes resulting in higher quality of care, higher customer satisfaction (NPS) and improved labour productivity

  • Drive the implementation of modified clinic operating model by optimizing clinical workflows and the division of tasks to include nurses thereby increasing the productivity of veterinarians

  • Contribute to the turnaround of underperforming clinics from a medical operation perspective

  • Provides leadership in the execution of AniCura Medical Strategy across country and serves as an equal partner to AniCura Regional Operations Managers to maintain strategic alignment of the medical agenda with the business strategy

  • Tailor the design of medical programs to the specific needs of the Italian market and be supportive to its implementations into our Italian practices

    Expectation: 2 days/week visiting focus clinics, 2 days/week across all market, 1 day/week admin tasks

    Key Responsibilities

  • Course correct underperforming clinics

  • Co-pilot with regional operations managers and functional leaders to secure the success of the Region in medical quality, people engagement, customer satisfaction and financial performance

  • Identify best practices that simultaneously drive veterinary care improvement and business performance

  • Convey the importance to clinic (department) leaders and all associates of the importance of high quality medical records and to implement solutions to reduce revenue erosion

  • Support procurement in medical & quality specification, participate in suppliers’ evaluation and implementation of procurement standards in clinics

  • Co-pilot with ROMs to implement annual execution plans

    Relationship

    Report to General Manager (GM)

    Other key relationships: ROMs, Market functional lead, PMs, Clinic Medical Directors, Clinic Managers

    Education & Professional Qualification

    Veterinary degree with 8+ years’ experience as Practice Manager or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

    Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Indepth knowledge of: 1) Veterinary clinics Organization models; 2) In clinic work flows and processes; and 3) Good veterinary practice

  • People leader (experienced on building high achieving teams & developing them)

  • 8+ years of professional experience in (Senior) Leadership role in veterinary clinic(s)

  • Experience on delivering based on operational KPIs

  • Experience on running multi-areas operations

  • Turnarounds a must

  • P&L Management (min 5 years)

  • Proven experience and demonstration of analytical and organizational skills

  • Proven experience as a cross-departmental connector, with a focus on the Medical department

  • Advanced consulting skills, ability to influence decisions to a positive business outcome

  • Strong leadership, and influencing capabilities to motivate clinic leaders to change ways of working

  • Ability to deal with department escalations and organizational needs independently

  • Effective communicator with ability to adjust the message to the audience

  • Excellent command in verbal and written English language
