Job Description The business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) director develops, plans, executes, and tests the availability and recovery of business processes. This is an advanced role that requires a broad understanding of both technical solutions and business functions. The BC/DR director must understand business goals and strategy, along with operational requirements in a fast-paced environment. The BC/DR director supports continuous changes to the business to ensure critical processes are identified and prioritized according to business needs. The director acts a liaison to business stakeholders to understand their strategy and execution outlook. The BC/DR director embodies a strong work ethic and demonstrates analytical and critical thinking. The role must also be masterful at coordinating diverse business units to ensure recovery objectives are achievable. Superior listening and communication skills, the ability to work well with business units and reasonable technical expertise are all expected. The BC/DR director will work in tandem with business units to include risk and business impact assessments, along with recovery time and point objectives. Full understanding of compliance mandates is also a key requirement. Additionally, and in conjunction with security and technical leadership and multi-disciplinary departments, the BC/DR director embodies business and technical principles and constantly assesses business risk to crucial business components.
