Position Summary Under the direction of the Vice President, Blood Production and Distribution, plans and integrates all functions of the Core Production Laboratories across the Versiti footprint. Responsible for leadership and oversight of all component manufacturing across 5 states and 7 locations. Identifies opportunities to standardize and streamline operations, through operational and cost efficiencies. Ensures all processes are designed in a quality manner and in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements. Responsibilities Core Laboratory Management Oversight * Ensure prompt creation of blood components from all units drawn to maintain adequate component inventory levels * Research of new technologies and methods to assure state of the art processes. Works with Operations Support to develop validation and implementation plans and timelines to meet organizational goals * Ensures external and internal customer needs are met and product loss is minimized * Maintains appropriate staffing levels, 24/7, to meet production and quality expectations * Implements departmental policies as needed to ensure the production of quality blood products Quality and Regulatory Oversight * Coordinates with Medical Director and Quality as needed for changes in process or nonconforming materials * Participates in Quality Board meetings to ensure quality of operations and uniformity of processes * Ensures corrective and preventative actions...
