Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Clerk II- Food and Nutrition. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for data entry of patient meal selections into the food and nutrition service management software (CBORD) computer system. Transcribes special requests, allergies, food likes and dislikes or special nourishments for patients into the computer system. Maintains accurate counts of and assimilates tray tickets for tray line. Replenishes menus, diet copies and supplies as needed. Answer high volume of phone calls from patient care units.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs Dietary office clerical functions, including but not limited to, answering telephones, inventorying and replenishing office supplies and nutrition materials, photocopying master menus to restock shelves.
    • Inputs patient selections into the CBORD system to ensure patients receive meals in accordance with meal selections and approved diet. Offers assistance to patients in selecting menu items when appropriate. Updates menus throughout the day.
    • Transcribes patient allergies, special requests, food likes and dislikes or special nourishments for patients and inputs patient special orders into the CBORD system.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. Excellent communication (both oral and written) and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:
1- 2 years Office setting in a clerical capacity. Knowledgeable of the food and nutrition service management software (CBORD) computer system.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $21.50 - $21.50 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
