Job ID360450 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyLR-Technical Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code4967 Employee ClassAFSCME Unit 7 - Technical About the Job Hiring Salary Range: $47,694 - $51,584 DOQ This position assists Classroom Technical Services departmental personnel with the logistics and vehicle operations to meet design, maintenance, installation, and service goals for audiovisual technologies on the Twin Cities campus at the University of Minnesota. Additional responsibilities will include inventory receiving and organization, processing equipment repairs, troubleshooting audiovisual systems in classrooms, assisting with the staging and installation of audiovisual equipment, and delivering employees, equipment, and materials to and from job sites. Flexible work: The Office of Classroom Management utilizes a hybrid team workforce model. This full-time position is structured for fixed-schedule, flexspace. The employee may perform some responsibilities using virtual technology; also known as remote work or work from home. A portion of on-campus work is required for this position. Academic Support Resources supports hybrid and. Work arrangements are determined in coordination with supervisors depending on the nature of the unit and position. The arrangement for this position will be determined upon hire between the employee and supervisor. Logistical and Administrative Operations: (75%) Assist departmental personnel as necessary to achieve established departmental goals. This may include, but is not limited to: Inventory receiving and job staging Inventory counts and organization Processing equipment to be repaired with vendors Making deliveries and trips to vendors when the regular driver is busy Troubleshooting and performing repair work on audiovisual systems to keep learning environments functional Creating, triaging, or escalating audiovisual work requests Coordinate proper completion and submission of all paperwork associated with assignments per established procedures. Complete and accurately submit time cards daily based on time spent on individual projects. Participate as an active contributing member on all assigned team projects. Perform various other duties as assigned by management. Vehicle Operations: (25%) Responsible for safe and efficient operation of all CTS departmental vehicles as needed to meet departmental goals. Operate vehicles through heavy metropolitan vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Deliver University employees, equipment, and materials to and from job sites. Operate all vehicles according to all State of Minnesota, U of M, Fleet Services, and CTS driving policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining daily records for all departmental vehicle operations including parking tag security, vehicle key security, employee licensing, and general vehicle information and maintenance. Responsible for the safety and security of all vehicles, driver cell phone, and vehicle keys at the end of all assigned shifts and the end of day operations. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of work experience. Demonstrated customer service skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to problem-solve and probe for more information from customers. Experience using computers for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and the internet. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs., climb ladders, bend, kneel, carry, distinguish colors, and demonstrate basic computer knowledge. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and keep all tasks moving forward at all times. Ability to operate large vehicles through heavy metropolitan vehicular and pedestrian traffic. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to work on a team. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail. Familiarity with audiovisual technology systems.
