Overview The mission of NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center (NorthPoint) is to create a healthier community. About the Role: The Career and Workforce Development Services department utilizes an innovative and transformative approach to support individuals in need of employment, in demand careers, education, and training opportunities. The primary goal of the program is to empower both adults and youth facing barriers, to access livable - wage jobs. The program ensures each guest receives assessments of their career interests, skills and social supports with the outcome of providing each person with a personalized experience. Services include employment and career placement assistance, internship opportunities, and short/long-term training programs geared towards accessing a livable wage. Project Launch and Career Pathways/Benefit Cliffs programs, serve youth, underemployed/unemployed adults and families receiving public benefits access to valuable work experiences and opportunities to secure and retain good-paying jobs. The Career and Workforce Development Coordinator assists guests in developing career goals through the Individual Career Development Plan (ICDP), coordinates work-based lea ning, and tracks employment, training, and internship progress. This position will collaborate with various stakeholders, including workforce development organizations, educational institutions, businesses, employers, and community partners. This position is also responsible for organizing work readiness and soft skill development training to enhance guests' understanding of the work culture and strengthen their competency. Working collaboratively with case managers, the Career and Workforce Coordinator will address guests' holistic needs through an integrated service model while also ensuring that departmental goals are met. Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in vocational rehabilitation, education, human resources, business, social services or related field, and three (3) years of career and workforce development experience; Associate degree in vocational rehabilitation, education, human resources, business, social services or related field with five (5) years of career and workforce development experience human services, vocational or workforce development, Human Resources or a high school diploma with seven (7) years of experience in career and workforce development, human services, vocational or workforce development, or Human Resources. Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification required or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment. Strong knowledge of the MN labor market and workforce development best practices that include demonstrated ability to assess and enhance guests employment readiness through educational opportunities, certifications or other vocational programs and trainings that lead to licensure, certification, degree, or viable employment opportunities. Experience with administrative, leadership, initiating, and implementing work-related programs and facilitating workshops and career fair activities. Excellent oral, written, and group communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals of various ages, ethnic, cultural backgrounds, and economic status. Knowledge of community, educational, and economic resources, and social services in North Minneapolis is a plus. Must have a valid driver s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Northpoint s driving standards. Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and computer client tracking databases.
