Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? Lead the application development activities affiliated with the centralized data and analytics solutions, and lead the overall centralized integration space for the US geography.This job will allow for proper segregation of duties between the change the business activities, for which this position will be responsible, and the run the business activities (application support and maintenance), which will be the responsibility of a Director who is a peer to this position. What will you do? Accountable for all change the business activities with the data and integration capability For the U.S. Wealth Management business unit. This team is responsible for a mix of internal software development and providing leadership on centralized data and integration solutions. Responsibilities include all projects to upgrade, add, or modernize centralized data and integration solutions, including large and small solutions, development of interfaces with consuming applications, and security and authentication changes. Will work with peers on the U.S. Wealth Management Technology & Solutions team understand and communicate data and integration solutions to facilitate business need. Also will be accountable for engaging RBC peers to inform them of modernization strategy that will impact consumers. Overseeing the acquisition and ingestion of data from structured and unstructured sources, while ensuring quality and comprehensiveness of data. Lead data exploration and analytic projects and providing on-going coaching of big data topics (visualization, data mining, analytic techniques). Champion approach for data virtualization Leads risk management for assigned portfolio of work by ensuring compliance with appropriate RBC policies and standards, and by support of internal and external audit activities. Responsible for audit items, safety and soundness efforts, and other control oriented functions Maintains external links to other companies in the industry and to industry and professional associations to gain competitive insight and share information as appropriate. Manage employees and contractors in direct reporting line. Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues across U.S. Wealth Management, Global Wealth Management Technology & Solutions, and the RBC Technology & Operations organizations. Ensure that employees understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals. Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development and rewarding strong performance. What do you need to succeed? Must-have Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience in the technology and financial services industry Detailed understanding of modern development capabilities, cloud, distributed database solutions, DevOps, machine learning. Project Delivery Resource Management, Change Management, Incident/Issue Management and Resolution, Problem Management and Resolution, Risk Management Leadership experience in data and integration space. Strong business understanding of Credit Risk, Market risk, Data Science, Data analysis, Data explorations, Big Data Strong aptitude for Hadoop, Spark, OpenShift, Tableau, Python Relational databases: an intermediate knowledge of relational database concepts and how to interact with databases using SQL is required. Experience in AI/Machine Learning techniques Data and Integration Solution in depth knowledge What's in it for you?
