About the Role: The purpose of Housing Stabilization Services is to increase long-term housing stability in the community and avoid future periods of homelessness. Services provided will strongly emphasize personal goal setting and developing strategies to achieve them, skill building, guest advocacy, and bringing awareness of current NorthPoint programs, services and resources to support, increase self-sufficiency and improve the lives of individuals and families who reside in North Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs. The Housing Stability Case Manager will coordinate, facilitate and support individuals and families to stabilize, maintain and improve their current housing. These services are targeted to people who are at risk of becoming homeless. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or closely related field, preferred. Associates Degree with two (2) years of case management experience in a non-profit setting focusing marginalized communities, or a High Sch ol Diploma or GED with four (4) years' experience in case management in a non-profit setting working with marginalized communities. Two or more years of experience facilitating, coordinating and/or leading weekly trauma-informed empowerment workshops/and or groups covering topics such as trauma, healthy relationships, financial capability, and anger management and etc. Knowledge of HUD, HMIS, and City of Minneapolis housing regulations Must have knowledge of community, housing, educational and economic resources and human services in North Minneapolis, and throughout Hennepin County. Experience developing and delivering culturally responsive, person-centered services. Experience negotiating lease terms, fees and deposits with potential landlords. Excellent oral, written and group communication skills to effectively interact with people of various ages, ethnic, cultural backgrounds, and economic status. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining rapport with individuals and families that leads to increased personal empowerment and self-sufficiency. Experience, commitment, and resourcefulness in working with disadvantaged low-income populations from diverse cultures. Knowledgeable of community, educational and economic resources, and social services in North Minneapolis. Highly developed organizational skills and comfortable taking initiative. Valid driver's license, proof of current insurance and reliable transportation required. Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, HMIS, and computer client tracking databases. Experience with Allita, a plus.
