U.S. Bank National Association Principal Solutions Architect in Minneapolis, Minnesota

This is position is a technology executive who operates as a C-level advisory on large and highly complex initiatives worth tens to hundreds of millions of dollars with high impact to the enterprise, our partners and our customers. Provides architectural guidance and develops strategies and roadmaps to align with the bank s key Product areas critical to the business. Works across the organization to foster a culture of architecture that allows for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling. As part of delivering architecture strategies, this role determines the Return-on-Investment for specific engineering initiatives, establishes engineering strategic objectives, promotes use of enterprise shared services and reviews exceptions, reviews root cause analysis for key incidents and drives response across the engineering organization, drives the organizational testing strategy and uses quality metrics to identify gaps, works with the security team to set and refine organization-wide security strategy, ensures expectations across the organization and external stakeholders are clarified between all parties involved, identifies dependencies and works with individual teams to resolve them, coaches the team on making trade-offs, prioritization and managing technical debt, identifies and manages technical and business risk, leads MBRs (monthly business reviews) with CIOs and CIO teams, creates enterprise-wide strategies, implements architecture governance via project risk reviews and technology assessments, drives cloud migration and application modernization including defining and reviewing cloud migration blueprints, controls and target state architectures, understands and applying BIAN business reference models, defines and creates business capability maps, identifies portfolio health and opportunities including obsolescence, risks, vendor exposure and external facing vulnerabilities. This is a highly influential role with high visibility for the aligned CIO but also across the organization interfacing with Risk, Security and Regulatory teams.
