Our mission is to bring health through food to as many people as possible. Danone North America in Minster Ohio is looking to add Maintenance Mechanics due to market growth and pending retirements. Our mechanics work on state of the art equipment in a climate controlled facility with the opportunity for training to grow your career to become a State Certified Journeyman Mechanic. Seeking a Maintenance Mechanic / First Responder on a 12-hour night shift (5:48PM - 6:00AM). The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for all emergency and unplanned breakdowns associated with production lines. Pay starts at $34.54/hr plus $1.00/hr shift premium with the opportunity to grow to a State Certified Journeyman Mechanic at $38.78/hr plus a $1.00/hr shift premium. Specific Job Duties & Tasks: Consistently communicate service actions and equipment issues with operators, maintenance, and all corresponding departments (e.g., scheduling, processing, packaging, distribution) Follow safety protocols and utilization documents (e.g., safety manuals, manufacturer instructions, diagrams, etc.) Perform CILT (i.e., clean, inspect, lubricate, tighten) quality checks on production lines to ensure machinery is properly functioning Prevent safety hazards and service requests via proper supervision, observation, and quality checks Ask questions regarding equipment failure in order to properly diagnose issues Monitor several production lines or utilities systems (if working in utilities) simultaneously Evaluate, test and maintain electrical wiring Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment Efficiently assemble/disassemble machinery when necessary Install specialized equipment, devices, or parts for repairs Receive daily reports to verify the status of production lines Receive work orders via computer systems or phone Document resolutions to equipment failure for future reference Remove defective machinery/equipment with industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, etc.) Annually attend in-house trainings (e.g., forklift, automation, welding, ladder, lock-out/tag-out, and safety) Cleaning and sanitation tasks (e.g., part lubrication and cleaning, general housekeeping) Work 12-hour night shifts, 5:48pm - 6:00am on a 3-2-2 schedule Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge Mechanically and technically inclined Computer literacy and automation mechanics Dairy processing experience (preferred) Experience with continuous improvement Total Preventative Maintenance (preferred) Skills Properly utilizes equipment (e.g. power tools, phones, wrenches, screw drivers, cutting blades, tape measure, etc.) Exceptional verbal/written communication skills Meticulous work ethic and keen awareness to detail Effective problem-solving skills Prioritizes responsibilities and tasks Meets deadlines in timely fashion Proficiency in data entry Abilities Open to team-collaboration, building relationships, and sharing of knowledge/ideas Awareness of surroundings and anticipation of potential hazards/issues Adequate vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination
