Summary

The Bell Mobility Finance Product team is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager who is able to strive in a fast-paced environment!

This role is a key contributor to the overall Finance team and will be reporting directly into the Senior Manager – Product. This includes working with the business to understand business drivers, prepare forecasts, month-end journal entries/reporting, ad hoc analyses and deep dives to identify EBITDA opportunities, data mining and working with Business Intelligence to improve our data sets. This person will become an expert in the Canadian Wireless Industry focusing on revenues and expenses associated with Bell’s Cell Phone and Connection Fees. This knowledge and research will evolve into the preparation of presentations to the Product Team.

The successful candidate will possess strong experience with month-end reporting, preparing management P&L’s, forecasting and have financial analytic experience along with excellent communication and critical thinking skills as well as a clear ability to identify key business trends and issues. The candidate will also have the capacity to build relationships at various levels of the organization and the confidence to participate in senior level discussions. In addition, the candidate will be a self-starter that is able to work independently to complete specified tasks under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly month-to-date and month-to-go outlook updates for the current month as well as official monthly forecasts and annual budgets.

  • Work with the Finance BI team to improve our financial data sets and then leverage this information for our forecast models as well as taking the initiative to analyze the data to identify EBITDA opportunities

  • Assist the team with building and automating new financial metrics

  • Leverage Alteryx / SQL (Teradata) to data mine identify EBITDA opportunities

  • Helping build executive forecast decks focussing on key business drivers to understand and explain financial and metric variances

  • Assist in financial deep dives and special projects in order to provide enhanced, value-added financial analysis & insight to drive improved financial & business performance

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting to drive new insight

  • Work independently to prioritize and present various projects

Critical Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce and CPA/MBA (or working towards designation)

  • 3 years + of finance work experience

  • Experience building management reports as well as financial models and forecasting

  • Comfortable working with various financial systems, has strong working knowledge of Excel/SAS/SQL, ability to data mine and manipulate large amounts of data

  • Knowledge of SAP, BPC, Cognos, Micro strategy, Alteryx is an asset

  • Ability to streamline processes to improve both speed and accuracy of planning and reporting processes

  • Communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills)
