About The Role

Position assists customers with a full range of deposit related accounts while counseling customers on other bank products. Primary responsibilities include opening and maintaining personal/business checking and/or savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit (CDs), Safe Deposit Boxes, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), or Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). Position possesses the product knowledge to cross-sell online banking services and to refer customers to other bank products, such as credit cards and merchant processing. Promotes increased customer use of bank products and services to enhance customer satisfaction. Position complies with all banking laws and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major Duties and Responsibilities for New Accounts Representative Level I & II include:

  • Explain the different types of bank products and services available to customers and assist them in the selection of the products that are most appropriate for their needs. Cross-sell and/or refer customers to other bank products and services such as personal/business online banking, credit cards and consumer, commercial and real estate lending. Open and maintain personal and/or business checking or savings accounts, CDs, HSAs and IRAs. Enter and update information on accounts, and prepare, scan and file all related documentation. Correct documentation errors from quality control review. Provide notary services as needed.
  • Provide response to customer service-related requests and questions such as, but not limited to, the following: printing of Visa debits cards and ATM cards; address changes; processing Harland check and deposit tickets orders, and endorsement stamps. Assist customers with debit card and ATM disputes; placing stop payments; processing foreign and domestic wires.
  • Identify and research customer service issues related to our online banking systems such as: resetting passwords, re-activating and unlocking NetTeller accounts. Assist customers with removing blocks from BillPay and resetting security questions. Resolve technical issues customers might encounter with the Glacier Family of Banks mobile application. Respond effectively to customer questions and problems.
  • Provides Safe Deposit Box custodial services. Initiate rental of safe deposit boxes; explain rules and procedures to new customers and secure proper signatures on the rental documents. Follow proper procedures for admittance, closing, lost keys, refunds, and drilling safe deposit boxes. Maintain accurate admittance card records.
  • Promote the High Performance Growth (HPG) program by discussing program with customers, and actively participating in Big Day and other HPG activities within the branch.

Through the New Accounts Representative Progression Plan, Proficiencies to Progress to Level III & IV include:

  • Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in opening all account types of: Trusts, Estates, Representative-Payee, Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts and Power of Attorney.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in opening HSA and IRA accounts.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school degree or GED is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Working Knowledge of standard office equipment; basic computer skill with working knowledge or ability to learn various office software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Light work. The employee is constantly required to stand and walk. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
