Role

This role will be responsible for providing direction, planning and oversight of EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations and Corporate standards across the France CHVAC entities (Carrie SAS and Carrier France SCS). This role will span the field service & sales organization and business support functions. Our functional purpose is to support Carrier’s mission by creating business value through breakthrough and sustainable EHS solutions to protect our People, our Stakeholders, and our Environment.

Responsibilities

1.Leadership and Strategy Development : Provide leadership in and manage all aspects of occupational health, safety, and environment (EHS) for North Europe services/projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and company requirements. Develop and implement EHS plans and strategies for France that are aligned with the Commercial HVAC business unit strategic direction and the France Service and Sales Organizations.

2. Collaboration and Coaching : Collaborate with France senior management and other functions to achieve optimal EHS performance. Coach management teams to develop a deep understanding of EHS responsibilities and the business benefits of a robust EHS program. Promote and ensure adherence to Lead with Safety Commitments, fostering a shared EHS responsibility and culture.

3. Operational Controls and Program Management : Develop and deploy EHSOS Operational Controls; create additional policies and practices; monitor the development and implementation of EH&S programs within the unit; and report progress to relevant leadership. Conduct regular safety inspections/audits and ensure timely closure on corrective actions.

4. Incident Investigation and Resource Management : Oversee EHS investigations into workplace incidents to uncover root causes, identify immediate and preventative actions, and capture “lessons learned.” Identify EHS resource needs during project proposal phases based on project role, scale, hazard profile, and technical complexity.

5. Training and Subcontractor Management : Lead EHS training and development programs. Manage the prequalification, deployment, and safety performance of subcontractors to ensure they meet EHS standards and expectations.

Our Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Engineering or relevant scientific/technical area.

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive work experience gained working with organizations in construction or field based and manufacturing operations.

  • Regulatory knowledge including safety, environmental and other regulatory standards applicable to building services industries and construction.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead teams, drive change and interact cross functionally.

  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.
