CAE USA INC Reliabilty Engineer and Preventive Maintenance Coordinator in Montreal (St. Laurent), Canada

About This Role

A Reliability and Preventive Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and management of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and preventive maintenance programs within an organization. This role focuses on improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and extending the lifespan of assets by coordinating maintenance activities and optimizing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance Planning: Develop, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment operates efficiently and to avoid unplanned breakdowns.

  • Reliability Improvement: Analyze equipment performance data and failure trends to identify areas for improvement, enhance reliability, and implement corrective actions.

  • Work Order Management: Coordinate and prioritize maintenance work orders based on criticality, urgency, and availability of resources.

  • Equipment Inspections: Ensure regular inspections and condition monitoring of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before failure.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance teams, production staff, and vendors to ensure maintenance tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Track and analyze maintenance activities, downtime, and performance metrics, and provide reports on the effectiveness of preventive measures.

  • Inventory Management: Ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and tools for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance strategies and reliability-centered maintenance principles.

  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance instructions.

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for coordinating across teams and departments.

  • Experience in managing maintenance budgets and resource allocation.

Key Metrics:

  • Reduction in equipment downtime and maintenance costs.

  • Improvement in overall equipment efficiency (OEE).

  • Increased mean time between failures (MTBF) and reduced mean time to repair (MTTR).

  • Effective execution of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
