Affordable Care Senior Business Intelligence Developer in Morrisville, North Carolina

Overview

JOB PURPOSE:

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is a critical team player for the IT department who implements business intelligence solutions, manages enterprise reporting, provides analytical support to various departments across the organization, supports data governance initiatives, and serves as a liaison between IT and the business.

The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple and changing priorities, operate with little oversight, be highly motivated, take ownership of systems and processes.

Your Team – Who You’ll Work With

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Data Governance and Architecture to develop and execute goals

  • Work with various business stakeholders and leadership to foster collaboration and support between IT and the business

  • Work closely with other IT/Analytics team members to deliver solutions

Responsibilities

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Intelligence

  • Implement end to end business intelligence solutions solving real-world business problems (requirements gathering, design, and implementation)

  • Lead business intelligence projects while utilizing other team members such as ELT Developer, EDW Developer, Quality Control Manager

  • Integrate new data sources into the enterprise data warehouse via azure data factory and other modern ELT tools

  • Create dimensional models/star schemas via SQL (views, tables, stored procedures)

  • Manage Analysis Services Tabular Models and Power BI Data Sets

  • Create end user solutions such as SQL tables and views for analysts to query, Power BI reports for corporate staff, excel reports

  • Reporting

  • Serve as Power BI Administrator for the organization - manage workspaces/applications and implement security best practices

  • Serve as the corporate reporting subject matter expert

  • Design and develop new report content, following design and visualization best practices

  • Analytics

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all things data and analytics

  • Perform ad hoc analysis for the business as needed

  • Identify performance patterns, root causes and future business opportunities

  • Perform QA and UAT of other team members work

  • Data Governance

  • Communicate core business processes and concepts throughout the organization

  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure data integrity

  • Develop terminology standards in conjunction with the business

  • Liaison between IT and the business

  • Work with various team members and leadership to foster collaboration and support between IT and the business

  • Effectively communicate and translate business requirements from the business to other team members

  • Help guide IT and leadership decisions with insights gained from working closely with the business

  • Conduct regular training sessions for the business around reporting and KPIs

Qualifications

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field

  • Strong excel usage and knowledge

  • 4+ years hands-on experience with analytics like: Campaign Marketing, Root Cause analytics, Return on Investment (ROI), forecasting, Direct Marketing, Search Engine Marketing (SEM/SEO).

  • 4+ years SQL experience

  • 4+ years experience with Power BI

  • Dental service organization experience preferred

  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution

  • Strong customer service focus with proven ability to connect with customers, understand needs and deliver results

  • Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to document methodologies, requirements, and processes

  • Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills

  • Willing to be a positive mentor and guide to the team sharing knowledge and experience where needed

  • Proven track record of consistency, accuracy and accountability

  • Team player who manages up team members, leadership and the organization, keeping the team informed of Business Intelligence activities, work efforts, projects, challenges and successes
