Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plant equipment. The ideal candidate will have the authority to follow standard methods and procedures or establish precedents in work performance.
Responsibilities
Maintain plant equipment in a running condition and complete assigned tasks as needed.
Collaborate with quality assurance and sanitation departments to meet operational needs.
Conduct constant walk-throughs of the area, shut down lines as necessary, interpret company policies and safety regulations, and analyze and resolve work problems or assist others in solving mechanical issues.
Coordinate scheduling with personnel to ensure equipment functions efficiently.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Capability to stand and walk for up to 3 hours prior to each break period.
Skill to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and scaffolding while maintaining balance.
Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction.
Visual acuity to perceive shapes, sizes, distances, motions, colors, or other characteristics of objects.
Capacity to twist and turn the trunk of the body from side to side.
Ability to stoop, bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
Skill to kneel, bending the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knees.
Proficiency in repair and preventive maintenance.
Strong mechanical and refrigeration skills.
Work Environment
The work environment includes concrete and metal platforms. Conditions vary from heat, cold, to humidity. Moderate exposure to chemicals, dust, and fumes is expected. Noise levels may require hearing protection.
