VETERANS SERVICES - The organization offers a variety of services to veterans, such as career assistance, education support, and mental health resources. They aim to help veterans successfully transition to civilian life. COMMUNITY SUPPORT - *AMVETS is active in supporting local communities and veterans' initiatives. This may include scholarships, community events, and partnerships with other organizations to address the unique challenges veterans face. *MEMBERSHIP - *AMVETS has a membership structure, and individuals who have served in the U.S. military, including the National Guard and Reserves, are eligible to join. Members often participate in the organization's activities and contribute to its mission. *HONOR AND REMEMBRANCE - AMVETS is involved in honoring veterans and military personnel who have served their country. This may include ceremonies, events, and memorials.

Position Overview: As a Part-time Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office environment. You will be responsible for providing administrative support, handling office tasks, and assisting with basic accounting duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general office duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, and managing correspondence.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Assist with basic accounting tasks including data entry, invoice processing, and reconciling financial records.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining office filing systems.
  • Provide support to other team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in an office environment or administrative role
