Google Application Engineer, Procure to Pay in Mountain View, California

Role Description

As our Application Engineer, Procure to Pay (P2P), you will work closely with our procurement team to understand operational challenges and requirements, leading to optimizations of our Coupa instance. In this essential role, you’ll enhance our procurement and payment processes, ensuring they are streamlined, cost-effective, and aligned with our business objectives. Additionally, you’ll balance technical skills and functional expertise in P2P, enabling you to work on technical aspects of our system and presenting solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

In this role, you'll:

  • Work closely with the procurement team to understand their operational challenges and requirements. Analyze current P2P processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

  • Design, propose, and implement Coupa-based solutions that address identified business needs. Ensure these solutions optimize procurement operations and are scalable and efficient.

  • Lead the configuration and customization of Coupa to meet business requirements, including setting up catalogs, supplier portals, and approval workflows.

  • Oversee the integration of Coupa with other business systems (e.g., ERP, finance systems) to ensure seamless data flow and process efficiency. Manage data within Coupa, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Coordinate testing of new features and system updates, ensuring they meet business needs. Oversee the deployment of Coupa updates and enhancements.

  • Develop training materials and conduct sessions for users on Coupa functionality and best practices. Provide ongoing support to users and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

  • Monitor the performance of the Coupa platform, generating reports on procurement metrics and identifying areas for further improvement.

  • Act as the primary liaison between IT and procurement, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives and timelines.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience working with ERP systems and their end-to-end implementations, capabilities, configuration, and integration options.

  • Experience as an Application Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Procure to Pay (P2P) processes and Coupa.

  • Experience working with procurement operations, policies, and best practices.

  • 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.

It's preferred if you have:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience identifying inefficiencies, gaps, and areas for improvement with ability to enhance overall process efficiency and user satisfaction.

  • Experience as the primary liaison and management between the organization and service vendors, ensuring alignment on projects, and effectively communicating progress and challenges to internal stakeholders.

  • Exposure to DocuSign, SAP Finance, Siemens Teamcenter, Supply Chain, Vertex, HR Systems (Workday, Concur), Nuvolo, Simple Legal, P6, Blackline, and Asignet.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $185,000 - $203,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
