Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager in Mountain View, California

Azure Core High Performance Computing (HPC)+ Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure team drives the hardware roadmap, software and services that enable our users to run technical computing workloads in Azure – from large scale Generative AI and machine learning workloads to traditional High Performance Computing simulations and remote visualization. We are responsible for providing the most scalable HPC and AI infrastructure platform as well as the most powerful GPU clusters for our end customers in their quest for finding answers to some of the most difficult questions of science and industry.

This is an exciting time for HPC + AI, as they are undergoing a massive shift. AI technologies are being merged with existing HPC approaches, and both are moving to the cloud. At this critical juncture, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the product strategy and roadmap for software services for optimizing large-scale development and deployment of containerized HPC and AI workloads including generative AI workloads on Azure specialized compute. The candidate will work closely with engineering, specialized hardware, and other product teams as well as with external customers and partners. This is a leadership role and we are looking for a product leader who can drive cross-team alignment, work effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization and own and grow a product or feature from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • You will define the product strategy and own the product roadmap for software services that enable containerized HPC and AI workloads to be developed and deployed efficiently on Azure GPU infrastructure at very large scale.

  • You will partner with and drive cross-functional alignment and product integration with multiple internal product teams within Microsoft’s Cloud and AI organization.

  • You will be working closely with customers and external partners as well as Microsoft sales, and Business Development teams for defining requirements, and shaping the product roadmap.

  • You will be responsible for driving field enablement of your product areas for customer acquisition and growth.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years' Kubernetes and Docker experience.

  • 1+ years' experience working for a Cloud service provider.

  • AI and/or HPC knowledge and experience.

  • Experience running large-scale projects with multiple workstreams.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with customers and partners preferred.

  • Ability to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization including senior leadership.

Product Management IC4- The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
