Aston Carter Purchasing Agent in Mt Clemens, Michigan

Description:

Hours: Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm (8 hour shift)

Duties include:

•A purchasing background is necessary (fabricating experience very nice to have)

•The person must be detail oriented, ability to problem solve and work well with others. This is an in person position, very hands on an interact with other.

•Familiar with Sage is a plus, but should have knowledge of computer purchasing and inventory systems

•Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel

•Should be ok with going into the shop and interacting with shop personnel

•Bid out items for purchase to obtain best price

•Accurately and timely issue purchase orders to vendors, use Sage software purchasing module

•Accurately and timely give copies of purchase order info to others

•Follow up with vendors daily to ensure timely delivery of items purchased

•Accurately process vendor invoices on a daily basis using Sage software

•Accurately and timely process the quarter and yearend inventory counts using Sage software

•Review quarterly inventory with shop personnel for quarterly stock purchases

•Archive purchase order report and job packets on a weekly basis for Jobs that have shipped

•Purchasing of all items in timely fashion

•Correct items are ordered and verified after receipt.

•Purchased items delivered on time by vendor

•Any item shortages / vendor delivery issues are timely communicated to management

•Purchase transactions are timely and accurately recorded in accounts payable

•Purchase transactions for stock items are accurately recorded in inventory

•Weekly archiving of purchase order report and job packets

Must haves:

-Minimum 3 years Purchasing Experience within manufacturing

-Open to any industry within manufacturing as long as this person is adaptable to fabrication (doors, windows, hardware)

-ERP experience (open to any but they use Sage100 which would be preferred)
