Alistair Group has developed a pipeline of infrastructure development projects that support critical mineral supply

chains regionally. The Group is now developing an investment platform with key stakeholder support to fast-track

deployment of flexible capital into projects that alleviate key trade facilitation infrastructure gaps and coordination

challenges.

The Venture Associate role is the first full-time role for the Fund and will be a multi-faceted position to advance the

fund to the next stage of development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Engagement with Potential Funders:
  • Cultivate relationships with potential funders, including institutional investors, private equity firms, and government agencies.

  • Update presentation material to communicate the project pipeline to current and potential financiers.

  • Help to determine the most effective structure for continued investment into the fund.

  1. Due Diligence on Projects:
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential infrastructure projects, including financial, technical, and legal assessments.

  • Evaluate project risks and opportunities to inform investment decisions.

  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal review and decision-making.

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  •  Engage with stakeholders across the value chain, including project developers, government officials, local communities, and regulatory bodies.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate project development and mitigate risks.

  • Represent the fund in meetings, conferences, and industry events related to critical minerals and infrastructure development.

  1. Travel and On-site Engagement:
  • Travel to DRC, Zambia, Tanzania, Namibia and other African countries as needed to conduct site visits engage with local stakeholders, and assess project feasibility.

  • Collaborate with local teams and partners to navigate regulatory requirements and cultural considerations effectively.

  1. Government Agency Interactions:
  • Engage with various Government Agencies when applying for concessionary work.

  • Advocate for policies that support critical minerals infrastructure development and investment in target regions.

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, investment analysis, or infrastructure development.

  • Strong understanding of project finance, financial modelling, and investment evaluation techniques.

  • Experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa or similar emerging markets, with knowledge of local regulations and business practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required.
