The purpose of the role

The Clipchamp team in Office Product Group (OPG) is looking for a Senior Business Manager.

Clipchamp is Microsoft’s Video Creation platform, embedded in M365 and Windows, as well as available on web and mobile as standalone Freemium products. Clipchamp also drives SEO for Office Product Group.

This critical role reports to Clipchamp’s Vice President (VP) and works closely with Clipchamp’s Leadership Team (LT) to drive the Rhythm of Business, business accountability, resource management, communications and organizational health.

The Senior Business Manager will have a broad range of experience, making them able to navigate a high-visibility generalist role to act as a trusted partner and advisor, balancing leadership and influence to help their leader deliver on the business objectives.

This role is also part of the Office Product Group Business Management community which works together to drive efficiency and leverage the work of the group and has a dotted line relationship to the OPG Chief of Staff.

Responsibilities

Leadership Effectiveness, Business Operations & Communication

The Business Manager leverages knowledge of the leader's goals and business approach to ensure business activities are aligned with the leader's objectives. They synthesize information into insights that inform business decisions, leveraging expertise to influence the leader and leadership team.

  • Stay up to speed on pending launches and develop a firm grasp of the product strategy to help the Leadership Team (LT) ensure readiness.

  • Own internal communications to effectively drive clarity on the organization’s priorities and decisions.

  • Participate in the most relevant meetings and stay connected with the LT.

  • Maximize the effectiveness of the VP by partnering with their Executive Assistant to prioritize their time.

  • Work with the VP to drive prep for executive reviews, internal and external engagements.

  • Own cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and manage complex business needs.

  • Act as a project/program manager to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.

Business Management & Operations

In partnership with Finance, OPG’s Director of Business Management, the Senior Business Manager:

  • Leverages knowledge of organizational strategy and planned deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design budgets.

  • Collaborates with the LT regarding resource management planning, and ensures that the leaders are aligned on the headcount strategy.

  • Partners with the staffing team to meet hiring requirements and elevate staffing conversations with the LT.

  • Works as part of the OPG Business Management community to improve processes, procedures, and initiatives to run the business efficiently as the organization scales.

  • Partner with the VP’s EA to drive execution on budget and headcount tracking.

Team Development & Culture

In partnership with Human Resources (HR) and the LT, shape and drive the people agenda and lead team health initiatives, particularly focused on developing increased diversity, inclusion, and belonging. This is a shared accountability across all members of the LT.

The VP is based in Brisbane and LT is spread across Brisbane, Sydney and Redmond, USA. Interested candidates should be based in either Brisbane or Sydney.

Qualifications

Minimum experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a business management, product/ program management, operational management, chief of staff or similar position

  • Experience engaging and managing relationships with CXO level stakeholders

Preferred experience

  • Experience with financial modelling, analysis or insights development

  • Strong organisational agility in an enterprise environment and proven cross boundary collaboration capabilities

  • Experience with program/ project leadership in international corporate sales, marketing, or services environment, ideally within IT or a related industry.
