Within the German Industry Solutions Delivery organization the Strategy & Innovation team is responsible for bringing the most high-impact and innovative technology solutions into productive use for enterprise customers in the scope of overall digital transformation programs. The responsibilities of the team include support of strategic deals in presales and delivery, business relevant innovation, and intellectual property identification and harvesting. Furthermore, in the scope of customer engagements this team closely cooperates with the engineering teams in the Microsoft headquarter.

To further build up this team we are looking for a Solution Architect to help drive the strategic topic of application and data platforms including artificial intelligence leveraging the capabilities of the cloud and the intelligent edge.

The ideal candidates should bring a mix of advanced technology, software development and data science expertise grounded on a good business understanding. This role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge across Microsoft and non-Microsoft products and technologies, and the ability to provide strategic technical direction and technical leadership to customers and colleagues. It is involved in business and technical risk management as well as the entire IT services lifecycle, with a broad focus on technical talent, consistent delivery, innovation and technology alignment.

Responsibilities

Presales Activities

• Supports the Microsoft sales organization to define and drive technical strategy in large digital transformation programs for German enterprises

• Positions innovative end-to-end technology solutions inline with the Microsoft strategy like data and artificial intelligence to maximize customer business impact and win-rates and minimize implementation time and risk

Delivery Activities

• Provides oversight and technical leadership to critical customer implementation engagements and helps ensure that required technical and business criteria are met.

• Oversees technical strategy during delivery and supports execution of quality measures to ensure delivery in scope, budget and time

Business Development Activities

• Defines and creates compelling presales materials and showcases in alignment with the Microsoft sales and engineering organizations demonstrating the business value of the latest and most-innovative Microsoft technologies

• Drives the landing of new technologies in the German market in close cooperation with the Microsoft sales organization

IP Reuse and People Development Activities

• Recommends and sponsors Intellectual Property reuse and generation activities.

• Mentors other technical roles and grows technical talent

• Maintains close links to the Microsoft engineering teams and influences technical strategy

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or Engineering AND Experience in designing and leading the implementation of complex end-to-end technology solutions to meet business needs

• Work experience includes demonstrated technical depth in one or more of the areas:

• Application Modernization/Modern software development

• Analytics/Machine learning/AI

• Key base technologies like data platforms or containers.

• Deep familiarity with the technical characteristics and business benefits of cloud platforms.

• As this is a customer facing role, fluency in German (equivalent of B2 or higher) and English language is required.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant work experience spanning multiple areas of pre-sales support, solution design and implementation, technical consulting, software development, and operations/support.

• Good understanding of the business fundamentals of the IT services business (consulting, support, operations).

• Experience with the Microsoft Azure Cloud portfolio

• High level Experience with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Cloud portfolio

• Industry experience in one or more industries like automotive, manufacturing, banking, insurance, retail.
