Summary:

Returning retired, part-time Bus Drivers will receive top rate which is $33.99 per hour. Part-time Bus Drivers may work up to 30 hours per week. RETIRED BUS DRIVER, PART-TIME (ALL DIVISIONS) (Only Retired NJ TRANSIT Bus Operators) NORTHERN, CENTRAL and SOUTHERN garages .

Qualifications:

  • Retired from NJ TRANSIT as a Bus Driver

  • Separated from the Company for at least 90 days

  • Possess a current Commercial Driver's License with Airbrake and Passenger endorsements

  • Have a safe driving record that is in good standing with less than five (5) accumulated points

  • Are available to participate in a training program: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am--4:30 pm (perfect attendance at training is required)

  • Successfully clear a background check and a pre-employment physical examination to include D&A testing

This position is deemed safety sensitive per the Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations.

The DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of marijuana for any reason. It is unacceptable for any safety-sensitive employee subject to drug testing under DOT regulations to use recreational or medical marijuana. The prohibition includes any derivative of marijuana such as CBD oils, teas, etc. The use of recreational and medical marijuana is a violation of NJ TRANSIT’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy for safety-sensitive employees.
