Amazon Modernization Specialist BD in Mumbai, India

AWS India is looking for a business development leader to join its Modernization team that is pioneering digital transformation in the country, helping AWS customers across industries and segments deliver transformational business outcomes by adopting modern, cloud-native services, architectural patterns and software development practices. This cross-functional team works to define and execute AWS India’s go-to-market strategy for modernization, defining sales plays and marketing campaigns, owning 1:1 customer engagement, and making market-making recommendations on tools and programs to AWS sales and service leadership. This role reports into the Worldwide Specialist Organization in India, and will be responsible for driving customers’ digital transformation strategy aligned to their business priorities and challenges, provide recommendations on the most appropriate pathways for modernizing their legacy applications, databases and platform services, and empower them to execute on this strategy by bringing together a breadth of AWS resources across different functions and roles. You will be supported by a peer team of sales specialists and solution architects for different sets of services.

Key job responsibilities

• Engage with key customer stakeholders (CIO/CTO/CDO/Head of Applications) to understand their top business priorities and challenges, and build the business case for digital transformation by working alongside AWS account team and business value specialists. • Conduct application portfolio analysis and application discovery to identify target applications and to-be state • Engage subject-matter experts from the specialist community to develop high-level solution design for individual modernization pathways • Work with solution architect community to conduct architecture design workshops and build POCs • Work with account teams to identify high-propensity accounts for 1:1 engagement, and prospect for opportunities • Devise 1:many campaigns with partner and marketing teams to create awareness, and generate demand • Enable account managers and partner sales teams on business value, engagement models and commercial programs to scale pre-sales capability • Enable solution architects and partner technical teams on modernization pathways and tools to scale delivery capability • Work with sales and technical leadership to drive accountability, establish engagement models, and mechanisms for review and reporting • Voice of the Customer: Create lighthouse references, and share customer and market insights with WW service teams to influence roadmap for services and tools, and develop investment programs

A day in the life

As a Modernization Specialist BD, you will spend most of your time helping customers build and execute a roadmap for deriving the maximum business value from the AWS cloud. You will do this by enabling and empowering customers and AWS field teams alike to leverage the full range of AWS services, tools and programs towards solving their business challenges. Internally, you will spend majority of your time co-creating GTM and delivery plans and running them along with cross-functional leaders, making business cases to support high-impact investments, and providing feedback to sales, technical and service leadership for closer organizational alignment with what our customers need.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
