EJ CNC Operator - 2nd shift in Muskegon, Michigan

EJ has an immediate opening for an CNC Operator. Second shift: 3:30pm – 2:00am. Will train on first shift for approximately 2 weeks. Location: Muskegon, Michigan SUMMARY Responsible for running various CNC controlled machining centers. Including production and prototype part machining and secondary component assembly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Works in manner which demonstrates commitment to personal safety and that of others within the organization, following EJ safety procedures. * Setup fixtures, blocks and machining tools. * Reads blueprint and follows BOM, work instructions and routes information on production orders. * Proof of 1st piece, perform all required start or shift safety checks. * Performs in process quality checks using micrometers, calipers and gages. * Runs production parts at or above standard rates and update production paperwork. * Problem solves issues with the machine setup, part issues or the CNC program. * Ability to reset surface, re-home and minor programming. * Daily cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks. * Assembly of hardware components and parts for finish packaging, as necessary. * Material handling of parts by hand and use of overhead hoist, movement of palletized parts, including use of a pallet jack and/or forklift. * Production of composite products, running fiberglass cutting and molding processes or other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Must have experience running a CNC machine * Must have experience with Blue Print reading, G-Code Reading, and perform quality auditing and checking * Experience with Calipers, Micrometers, tape measure and other quality measurement tools * Other attributes should include: Self- directed requiring minimal supervision; sense of urgency, and attention to detail * Experience with Haas machining centers and Multi-Cam routers, a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations.
