Chervon North America Senior Data Analyst in Naperville, Illinois

Summary of Responsibilities:

As a Senior Data Analyst, your primary focus will be on designing and implementing Data Ops practices within our organization. You will serve as a key resource for resolving complex technical issues related to data infrastructure and processes. Leveraging your expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing solutions, and AWS cloud services, you will lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and ensure data reliability and availability through the implementation of Data Ops methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary resource for resolving complex technical issues related to data infrastructure and processes.

  • Collaborate closely with the IT team in China to address escalated technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on operations.

  • Conduct routine system checks and maintenance to optimize data infrastructure performance and proactively identify potential issues.

  • Utilize your deep understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions to enhance data analysis capabilities and drive informed decision-making.

  • Facilitate training sessions for team members, equipping them with knowledge of Data Ops principles and best practices.

  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive documentation, including troubleshooting guides, Knowledge Base articles, and best practices for data infrastructure and processes.

  • Lead the design and implementation of Data Ops practices, overseeing data integration, automation, and monitoring processes to streamline operations and enhance data reliability and availability.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data management, database administration, IT support, specifically with Oracle ERP and MySQL databases.  

  • Strong proficiency in troubleshooting, configuring, and managing data infrastructure, with experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.

  • Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques, including experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Expertise in designing and building Data Ops capabilities to automate data processing tasks and streamline data operations.

  • Experience with AWS cloud services, including but not limited to AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon S3.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or related field.

    Preferred Skills: 

  • Expertise in Power BI, Java, and SQL.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash).

  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance regulations (GDPR, CCPA).

    Working Conditions:

  • This role may entail shift work, including evenings, weekends, and on-call support, to ensure continuous system availability and support coverage.

  • The position offers flexibility with remote and in-office work arrangements based on organizational policies and project needs.

  • Travel to warehouses in the U.S. may be necessary at times.
