Job Summary and Qualifications

The Assistant Vice President Ethics and Compliance (AVP) role is a leadership position supervising directly or indirectly compliance managers, specialists and/or coordinators and reporting directly to the Vice President Ethics and Compliance. The AVP will be responsible for the maintenance and day-to-day operations of the enterprise-wide Internal Compliance Reporting and Ethics Line processes. The AVP will ensure efficient and effective review, tracking, investigation and resolution of reported ethics or compliance related concerns and consistent outcomes and corrective action.

What you will do in this role:

  • Develop and maintain effective policies, systems and procedural guidance for facilities and business units that promote timely internal reporting and resolution of healthcare regulatory compliance related incidents or events that must be reported to Internal Compliance Reporting (Reportable Issues), as defined in policy.

  • Develop and maintain effective policies, systems and procedural guidance for intake, tracking, investigating and resolving concerns reported to the company’s Ethics Line.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Internal Compliance Reporting and the Ethics Line functions consistent with the company’s policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Collaborate effectively across the enterprise with stakeholders and subject matter experts as needed to assess, investigate and resolve Reportable Issues submitted to Internal Compliance Reporting or concerns reported to the Ethics Line and to mitigate significant regulatory risk or systemic issues.

  • Monitor and ensure sufficiency of investigative actions and consistency in findings and corrective actions.

  • Ensure accuracy of data management platforms used by Internal Compliance Reporting and the Ethics Line for tracking information, analytics, benchmarking and performance metrics.

  • Prepare well-written, polished memoranda, reports, charts, executive summaries, presentations and other professional work product for internal and external reporting and education and training initiatives.

  • Monitor, identify and escalate reported incidents, occurrences or concerns requiring prompt attention by senior management.

What you will have for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Master's degree in Healthcare, Health Sciences, Business or Juris Doctor is preferred

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • 5 or more years management experience

  • Preference of 5+ years of experience in healthcare regulatory compliance, operations or law or equivalent in a healthcare facility, organization or system or law firm and/or working knowledge and application of Federal and state healthcare laws and regulations including but not limited to Stark Laws, Anti-kickback Statute, EMTALA, CMP, False Claims Act, etc.
