The Cigna Group EDI Software Engineering Senior Advisor - Hybrid in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Description

The candidate will act as a senior developer and technical expert in design and development of complex delivery solution for the Enterprise Gateway EDI transaction platform. Provides counsel and advice to team members and the solution architecture team. Acts as the principal designer for complex major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. Works closely with IT management and staff to identify application development solutions, new or modified programs, re-use of existing code through the use of program development software alternatives, or integration of purchased solutions or a combination of the available alternatives. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution. Documents, tests, implements, and provides on-going support for the applications. Additional skills and responsibilities are below:

 

Skills and Responsibilities:  

  • Experience designing and developing healthcare EDI processing solutions.

  • Experience with general healthcare payer transaction processing systems.

  • Experience with processing of HIPAA X12 transactions and HL7 standards.

  • Experience with Edifecs XEngine, XEServer, SpecBuilder, TM, and EAM.

  • Experience configuring XEServer Routes and Routing Components including but not limited to:

  • File System, Data Storage, and GBD Endpoints.

  • XE Native, Translator and XData.

  • Router, Aggregation, XML Splitter and XML Batcher.

  • JAVA Groovy, UNIX, and Python scripts.

  • Experience with IBM Sterling Integrator.

  • Experience with XML and related technologies such as XSL, XPath and JSON.

  • Experience with WebSphere MQ application programming concepts.

  • Experience using Oracle DBMS (and developer utilities such as SQL Developer or Toad).

  • Experience using Windows Server and Linux OS.

  • Experience using GitHub, Jenkins and UDeploy.

  • Experience with Agile Methodology.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 plus years of recent experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting IT applications in a large-scale, distributed environment as a Software Engineer.

  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and implement iteratively.

  • Proven track record of success in challenging the status quo, implementing new ideas and designs with a practical orientation.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
