(Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (or equivalent experience) and 1 year relevant experience; must receive certification during first year of employment)
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs diagnostic imaging services in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost effective imaging.
Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
Provides appropriate screening process to patients, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards.
Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.

Basic Qualifications
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (or equivalent experience) and 1 year relevant experience
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
Additional Qualification Information:
- If a recent graduate, new hire must obtain Radiologic credentialing within one year of being hired

Frequent: Radiation: May be exposed to occupational radiation, requiring enrollment in VUMC's Radiation Safety Program which includes training, use of personal protective equipment with lead shielding, and personal dose monitoring.
