Operations Technology Solutions (OTS) at Amazon is at the forefront of creating, securing, and maintaining advanced technical infrastructure and devices. These innovations span across Amazon's diverse landscape, including Fulfillment Centers, Transportation, Logistics, Specialty Fulfillment, Air, and Pharmacy sectors. Key job responsibilities

You design and deliver technology solutions which solve difficult business problems. You identify and solve ambiguous problems, architectural deficiencies, or areas where your team’s systems hinder the success or innovation of other teams.

You work autonomously, but may seek direction at times from peers and your manager. You consider the legacy of the systems you build with your team and how they will scale and evolve over time. Your solutions are pragmatic, efficient, and cost-effective. You make appropriate trade-offs and re-use or extend prior work where possible. You thoroughly test your work. You consistently write clear, accurate, and concise documentation for your own solutions and improve your team’s existing documentation.

A day in the life

  • Build, and maintain automated tests for various DSE services

  • Build and maintain system diagnostics for various DSE hardware products

  • Actively participate in software and system design reviews

  • Participate in the team on-call rotation where you will triage, communicate status, escalate, and remediate critical issues quickly

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust

  • Experience with Linux/Unix

  • Experience building services using AWS products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale

  • Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering

  • Knowledge of a front-end language (Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc.)

  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
