U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Naval Station Complex, California

Summary You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering Department, C282 IC/NAV/CSA Branch of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER. Responsibilities You will conduct independent engineering studies, investigations, research and analysis for the solution of unusual or unprecedented engineering problems or in support of short and long-term engineering projects. You will develop and coordinate technical training both within and outside of the SWRMC Engineering Department. You will review complex technical engineering design changes and development proposals submitted by the contractors for sound marine technical engineering practices and techniques in keeping with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) requirements. You will Initiate and implement process improvement initiatives including developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material, fleet training, etc. You will serve as the technical coordinator and lead subject matter expert for Combat Systems Alignment and related equipment with responsibility for functional checkout, test and inspection of major systems. You will lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating engineering project requirements to provide authoritative technical guidance and resolve issues impacting combat systems alignment and related equipment.
