Naval Supply Systems Command SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Naval Support Activity, Pennsylvania

Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT. Responsibilities You will serve as the principal technical advisor to the Commanding Officer and Program Managers/Project Officers. You will have knowledge of Integrated Logistics Supports, including management of sensitive parts, assemblies, and end items, including material handling, warehousing and storage, packaging, transportation, and inventory management. You will establish goals and objectives of the organization and make decisions concerning allocation/reallocation of the resources (manpower, dollars, supplies, and equipment). You will provide input and guidance for evaluation exercises and security studies. You will plan, administer, coordinate, direct, and manage the efforts of the organization. You will carry out EEO policies and assist in efforts regarding staffing, training, and motivation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Overseeing and/or leading the development and implementation of logistics support strategies and ILS management plans for a major weapons system; 2) Identifying supply process deficiencies and developing solutions; 3) Modifying standard or legacy logistics support practices and procedures to solve unique challenges related to submarines, weapons systems, and/or related equipment; 4) Utilizing security manuals/instructions pertaining to physical security and operational security due to the criticality of the programs managed and associated mission sets; 5) Leading and directing personnel in administrative and technical policies and procedures, and coordinating functions between various groups to accomplish intended goals; 6) Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with personnel at varying levels of organizational management, senior and subordinate.
