Full-Time Production Planner New Albany Ohio

Position Summary:

Develops, evaluates, monitors, and maintains the short-term manufacturing/packaging detailed schedule. Plans and schedules the detailed production/packaging plan at each site to meet the master schedule, which is based on the Company shipment forecast, safety stocks, production goals, and customer service objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates the capacity constrained short-term manufacturing/packaging production schedules to meet the master schedule based on customer service needs; develops, prioritizes, implements, and maintains production schedules, and works with Materials Planner to ensure the assignment of raw/packaging components and materials to support manufacturing and/or packaging of finished goods.

  • Maintains detailed production schedule and coordinates with Supply Planning and various departments to establish realistic short term production schedules; utilizes shipment forecasts to provide direction for a capacity constrained production schedule utilizing material, labor, and machine capacity within each department.

  • Reviews and analyzes weekly requirements with Supply Planning and Operations for Manufacturing/Packaging to meet specified schedules.

  • Prepares, creates, and organizes needed documentation/attachments for each work order.  Monitors work order status and completion to meet specified schedules.  Adjusts schedules if needed to meet customer demand, accounts for changes in capacity during the planned week and communicates all changes as necessary. 

     

  • Facilities the execution of the short-term schedule and monitors the performance of execution across production departments using key performance indicators such as schedule adherence.

  • Researches and works with the Materials Planner to correct material shortages to avoid production shutdowns; works with Materials Planner to expedite orders to avoid production delays and meet customer deadlines; reviews schedule adherence reports, shares outcome and takes needed action.

  • Maintains Manufacturing/Packaging Rework Utilization to reclaim materials from rejected or expired products; reports on and tracks status of rejected and obsolete finished goods to ensure rework/reclaim process is functioning efficiently.

  • Develops and maintains weekly manufacturing/packaging schedules to update management on current manufacturing operations; provides management with a comparison analysis of performance to plan with detailed causes of missed key performance indicators.  Documents issues weekly.

  • Produces and reviews MRP and schedule adherence reports and other reports.

  • Trains junior staff to enhance efficiency, quality, and quantity of employee work.

  • Produces special reports, graphs, and presentations for various levels of leadership.

  • Provides updates, information, and solutions on future requirements for efficient and effective software to meet current and future business needs.

  • Tracks development of new products through manufacturing/packaging process and reports progress to management.  Understand and communicate any capacity implications from new products to the central Supply Planning group.

  • Participates in PCI process improvement teams. Represents Scheduling in cross functional teams improving processes and increasing profitability.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

A four-year degree with coursework in Supply Management preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
