The Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations at Rutgers University seeks to hire lecturers who can teach a range of courses (i.e., Intro to Labor Studies; Youth and Work; Occupational Safety and Health;; History of Labor and Work in the U.S. 1880-1945;) in our undergraduate and graduate programs. The instructors will present course materials during assigned course times, hold office hours, administer exams, assign grades, complete assessment of student learning reports, and coordinate any other requirements related to course instruction. Our department offers courses online, in person in New Brunswick, and in person in a select number of off-campus courses in partnerships between Rutgers and Brookdale and Mercer Community Colleges.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
1. PhD, Law Degree, or Master's degree related to our program (for instance, Labor & Employment Relations, Sociology, History).
2. Preference for those with evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate, graduate or adult education levels.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
