Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Summer Camp Nurse for the Mason Gross School of Arts.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Receives and reviews all required student health forms and will act as the onsite medical professional providing care for children, grades 5th through 12th, throughout a series of residential and commuter performing arts summer camps.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medical and health care.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Must be certified in CPR.

Preferred Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Communication and interact effectively with students, families, and administrators.
  • Ability to build relationships with faculty, staff and students and any stakeholders.
  • The nurse has experience and is proficient in working with children and teens.
Equipment Utilized
  • Medical supplies/equipment use to administer medicine treatment, temperature checking, and for general medical and healthcare.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The pre-camp work will take place in May and June 2024 with camps running for 4 weeks in July.
  • Must be on call and ready to work during days/nights/weekend as needed.
Special Conditions
  • Successful finalist must have acceptable certification in at least ONE of the following areas: RN or LPN, Paramedic, EMT or first-responder, BOC-certified athletic trainer.
