Mary Wade Assisted Living Dining Room Manager in New Haven, Connecticut

Schedule: Full-Time: 40 hours per week:

Hourly Rate: $20.00 to $22.00 (Based on Experience)

Must be flexible with schedule and able to work on weekends

Previous Assisted Living Dining experience a plus.

The community includes 84 units, a combination of one bedroom and studio apartments. 20 units are Memory Care and the rest are traditional Assisted Living. We have a bistro, a salon/spa, a fitness center and a rooftop terrace!

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes optimal dining experience for Residents

  • The Dining Room Manager welcomes residents and guests into the dining room, greets, and seats diners to efficiently balance server capacity, and supervises dietary aides to ensure a pleasant dining experience.

  • Greets residents and guests upon arriving to the dining room, seats them appropriately, and responds to any issues that may arise.

  • Ensures all residents are accounted for during mealtimes and completes documentation of their attendance.

  • Communicates with kitchen staff to ensure that sick trays and guest trays are prepared and delivered on time.

  • Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking, food rotation, and guarantee food service areas adhere to all sanitation standards.

  • Ensure dining rooms are set up with all items needed for service

  • Assists in the dining room with clearing and resetting the dining room.

  • Attends resident food committee meetings as directed by Executive Chef.

  • Oversee Dietary Aide/Utility Workers

  • Conducts and monitors orientation and ongoing training with Dietary Aides and Utility Workers.

  • Monitors performance of dietary aides and utility workers, offer coaching and direction, as needed.

  • Posts assigned lists for staff, cleaning, temperature taking, and menus as directe

    Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate maturity, sound judgment and a positive demeanor in all situations is a MUST!

  • Have strong customer service skills

  • Previous manager/supervisor experience a plus

  • Have a strong positive attendance track record

  • Have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

  • Be able to be flexible to adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure

  • Possess a "Do whatever it takes" mentality

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Exercise immediate guidance, assigns and allocates work and provides basic training for Dietary Aide/Utility Worker.

  • Performs detailed work of the same or closely allied nature as a working supervisor.
