Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

• Oversee an extrusion machine that applies a plastic coating to bare copper wire or copper coaxial cable used in data transfer and communication.
• Set up the machine correctly for the product being produced.
• Use basic hand tools to switch and adjust tooling as needed.
• Monitor raw materials, ensure proper flow and supply, and quickly identify and resolve issues to maintain efficient and accurate product flow.
• Conduct periodic quality checks using measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure product specifications.
• Follow a set Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and a Master Sheet for product scheduling and a Process Sheet for material processing instructions.
• Pay close attention to detail, take measurements to ensure quality, and document results on a computer.
• Manage time effectively, moving from station to station to load/unload spools and manage the operation.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in New Holland, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

Very clean, climate-controlled production facility, though it can get warm. Safety-toed boots or shoes are required at all times. A dress code is enforced. Contractors work 12-hour shifts and are paid for all 12 hours. Breaks are provided by a relief person. Shifts allow for 4 nights off one week and 3 nights off the next. Great opportunity for growth and learning new operations, with positive reviews from current contractors and low turnover.
