Universal Health Services SUBSTITUTE TEACHER in NEW KENT, Virginia

Responsibilities

The substitute teacher is responsible for providing educational services to school age children attending Cumberland Academy according to the Academy Standards, as instructed by the Director of Education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide educational services to assigned students.

  2. Implement behavioral strategies in the classroom as developed by the team.

  3. Complete all documentation in a professional and timely manner.

  4. Provide verbal and written documentation to student’s team members.

  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, but not required.

Licensure/Certification:

Maintain current CPI (bi-annually), CPR (BLS Provider annually) First Aid (two years) Certifications.

In order to operate Cumberland’s vehicles, a current Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record (minimum of +1 points) is required.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of teaching.

Ability to intervene and de-escalate students when upset.

Ability to communicate with team of professionals.

Ability to structure time and complete work in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • 80-90% of the time, the incumbent is standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching while working with patients.

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients.

  • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.
