Description

We are offering a stimulating role for a meticulous File Clerk in the non-profit sector, situated in New Orleans, Louisiana. This job function revolves around managing a significant amount of documentation, ensuring all materials align with the retention policy, and effectively purging unnecessary documents. The role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Take charge of the document purge project, ensuring all documents are updated as per the retention policy

• Organize files and folders to match the existing folder structure and discard unnecessary documents

• Handle a wide range of client files including personal information, procurement documents, and Section 8 files

• Collaborate with file room personnel to review papers and make judgments to ensure they meet requirements

• Utilize Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word to manage correspondence and data entry tasks

• Contribute to the team of four, working closely with other employees

• Demonstrate knowledge of documentation processes, understanding potential roadblocks and issues that might arise during a purge

• Conduct filing and purging tasks with utmost accuracy and efficiency

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word

• Demonstrated ability to handle correspondence effectively

• Proven experience in data entry and purging

• Solid understanding and proficiency in filing systems

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in a non-profit organization is beneficial but not required

• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
