Purpose

The Head of US IT Infrastructure is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of all IT infrastructure services across the United States for a large global banking institution. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong execution and operational experience, ensuring the seamless delivery of programs and services, including servers, storage, networking, data center management, cloud services, and end-user computing.

What You’ll Do

Service Delivery Management:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure services, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability of systems.

  • Oversee the management of servers, storage, network infrastructure, and cloud services, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance requirements.

  • Oversee the delivery of end user technologies for high touch users within Trading and Investment banking areas, ensuring quality, performance, and resiliency.

Infrastructure Remediation Initiatives:

  • Drive local execution and tracking of infrastructure remediation initiatives, including software currency, asset management, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery preparedness.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify, prioritize, and implement necessary remediation actions to maintain regulatory compliance and service quality.

Regulatory Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices specific to the financial services industry, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with IT infrastructure.

  • Support local CIO with participation and support for regulatory exams and meetings

Transformation Leadership:

  • Lead and manage infrastructure transformation projects within a highly matrixed organization, driving successful outcomes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning related to infrastructure investments and enhancements.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of IT infrastructure professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.

  • Foster collaboration and communication across departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a key liaison between IT and business units, understanding their needs and ensuring that infrastructure services support business objectives.

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders, providing updates on service delivery, initiatives, and strategic direction.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large global financial services organization.

  • Experience in support of trading floor technology, ensuring rapid response and communicating changes proactively

  • Proven track record of managing complex IT infrastructure in a highly regulated environment, demonstrating strong knowledge of requirements and best practices.

  • Experience in driving successful transformation initiatives in a highly matrixed organization, with the prove ability to lead via influence

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Detail oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Experienced in driving a culture of accountability and ownership
