City of New York Expense Payment Analyst in New York, New York

Job Description

Hours: Full-Time – 35 Hours

Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Ave, LIC, Queens 11101

Only candidates who are permanent in the Accountant title, or those who are reachable on the Open-Competitive List (Exam #8050), or filed for DDC’s Promotional Exam #4500, or filed for the Open-Competitive Exam #4000 may apply. If you do not meet the previously mentioned civil service criteria, you will not be considered for an interview.

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Finance & Procurement Division seeks an Expense Budget Analyst. The candidate will prepare Miscellaneous Payment Vouchers for reimbursement of personal expenses of DDC employees including on the job site travel as well as reimbursement for professional licenses and certification. Candidate is expected to review payment requests against the Comptroller’s Directive. Prepare agency checks for DDC’s Annual Employee Recognition. In addition, the candidate will reconcile monthly bank statements from the Imprest and Demand Accounts, prepare Comptroller documents for inclusion in year-end Comptroller Audits and work closely with the Comptroller’s Office to reconcile payment discrepancies.

Qualifications

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting and auditing; or

  2. A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license.

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II individuals must have, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, at least one year of experience as an Accountant - Assignment Level I or at least two years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience.
