JPMorgan Chase Finance & Business Manager - Vice President in New York, New York

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) is a global leader across investment banking, wholesale payments, markets and securities services. The CIB Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) organization is at the center of data-driven business transformation for the CIB Operations organizations. The Business Management function optimizes business performance by focusing on outcomes, influencing key strategic initiatives and driving execution. We act as trusted advisors to the Business Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks.

As a Finance & Business Manager within the Commercial & Investment Bank Applied AI/ML for Operations team, you will have the privilege of collaborating closely with senior business managers, business heads, and various functional partners. Your role will involve supporting a wide range of business areas, necessitating effective coordination with key stakeholders across the firm to communicate and implement the business strategy. You will have the opportunity to establish a large network across all functions supporting the business, including Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Vendor Management, Business Control, Technology, and others. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how AI / ML efforts are delivered across Commercial & Investment Bank Operations, and will challenge you to undertake a variety of strategic projects for our rapidly evolving team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive strategies and insights to address top AI/ML opportunities for the business and inform the overall AI/ML strategy for CIB Operations, and recommend critical priorities to achieve that strategy

  • Leverage expertise in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning to determine greatest areas of opportunity for acceleration, and scope and structure projects to support it; Advise and influence senior leadership on key business decisions and major change initiatives

  • Gain deep understanding of end-to-end AI/ML lifecycle and all critical aspects of AI/ML development at JPMC; Perform product and operational analytics to identify improvement opportunities

  • Develop and operationalize key metrics to measure the current state, define what success looks like in future, and enable strategic solutioning and execution

  • Oversee portfolio governance of data and AI/ML projects including managing the Book of Work, prioritization, staffing, management reporting, dashboards and analytics

  • Act as trusted advisor to the Business head, and represents the Group in various forums

  • Manage business performance through the development and execution of business reviews, and senior management governance along with expense/budget management reviews

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 4+ years of experience in product or strategy analytics in a complex and dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated strategic mindset, analytical abilities, and deep intellectual curiosity

  • Ability to define and drive a delivery roadmap inclusive of milestone deliveries and the associated status reporting

  • Familiarity with big data, AI/ML, and public cloud concepts

  • Ability to work with and act as a liaison between technical experts such as Data Scientists, Product Developers / Managers, Product Controllers, Finance and Legal and Senior Executives

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver executive presentations and messaging to senior and global business heads through excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Identify potential roadblocks and escalate issues as needed

  • Quickly learn about all aspects of the firm's AI/ML strategy and governance

  • Collaborates with other team members to ensure successful implementation of the firm's & CIB's AI/ML strategy

  • Ability to take ownership of individual pieces of the strategy as needed and continuously stays up to date with developments in the AI/ML field

  • Previous product knowledge and/or prior Business Management, COO or Strategy experience
