Seeking an Associate to join our North American Auto & Equipment Term Asset Backed Securities Origination Group

Job Summary:

As an associate in the North American Auto & Equipment Term Asset Backed Securities Origination Group, you will spend two to three years working with top-tier professionals at the #1 Auto & Equipment ABS team in the industry. This unique position combines elements of the investment banking side of the business that pitches to clients and executes transactions with elements of the sales & trading side that tracks the markets and interacts with investors. While there is a steep learning curve, the team will provide developmental opportunities through training/mentoring, hands-on assignments, and client exposure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare presentation materials and participating in new business pitches

  • Provide execution support on transactions

  • Track ABS market developments

  • Review transaction/legal documents and regulations

  • Work closely with issuers and investors on ad hoc requests

  • Use CAS (Collateral Analysis System) to analyze data tapes / loan level files

  • Understand ABS structures and cash flow models

  • Conduct industry and product research

R equired Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • 2+ years of securitization-related experience

  • Provide leverage to team members: have a \"commercial mindset\" to understand how personal contributions result in revenue generation and creation of shareholder value

  • Strong sense of urgency and understand how individual work performance (including speed, attention to detail, quality) impacts the firm's ability to serve clients

  • Solid understanding of accounting and corporate finance including market fundamentals and applications

  • Possess a positive attitude and determination to complete tasks while demonstrating intellectual curiosity to understand the product and business

  • Analyze and interpret data: can detect trends and themes in quantitative analyses and communicate them effectively

  • Working knowledge of industry and market fundamentals (e.g., impact of economic/market conditions, terminology, competitive landscape, etc.)

  • Excellent writing, research, and presentation skills (e.g., proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Anticipate needs of client, team and senior bankers: show initiative to support team members and be pro-active with improving processes and responsibilities

  • Experience with Intex and CAS

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
