Federated Hermes' Kaufmann team, one of the industry's most experienced growth teams has an opportunity for a tech analyst to cover hardware/semiconductors.  This is a unique opportunity to join a research-intensive stock picking team with a bottoms' up long-term disciplined approach working with the team's senior technology analysts and portfolio managers to independently and diligently perform equity research.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Initiate, perform and maintain high-level fundamental analysis of publicly traded companies and potential IPOs to assist the portfolio managers in assessing suitability of stocks for inclusion in the portfolios. The investment analysis will include financial statement analysis, financial modeling, comparable company analysis and relative value work.
• Utilize analysis to formulate investment ideas and clearly articulate it to the portfolio managers for inclusion in the portfolio. This includes generating and diligently communicating value-added buy, sell and hold recommendations on individual securities, potential IPOs and other relevant information to the portfolio.
• Independently and diligently seek equity research and remain apprised of company and industry trends. Sources include, but are not limited to, industry publications, public documents, annual reports, trade journals, interviews with management teams, working with sell-side research analysts and reviewing financial statements and earnings transcripts. Channel checks, attendance at industry trade shows, networking with industry competitors, clients and suppliers should be utilized.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all research performed including proper documentation

   

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor Degree required; business, computer science or technology related course of study preferred; MBA and/or CFA  or working toward CFA preferred but not required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the technology industry (hardware/semiconductor), technology consulting and/or experience covering the hardware/semiconductor sector; 5 years of experience preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of investment analysis, financial statement analysis, valuation  and financial markets acquired by academic training or work experience required

• Excellent research knowledge, analysis and decision making skills required

   

   

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $150,000.  In determining salary multiple factors will be taken into consideration such as primary work location, experience, education and skill set.
