We're seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our agency platform team. This team manages our data platform, supporting our analytics team.

Position: Lead Software Engineer (Full-Time Employment)

Salary : $160-$205k

Work Arrangement : 100% Remote

Role Overview: As a Lead Software Engineer, you will head our agency platform team, which is essential for managing our data platform and supporting analytics. You will play a crucial role in scaling and developing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients. This position involves managing the backend platform, internal tooling, and providing leadership and mentorship to two software engineer direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive technical projects, leading by example and contributing directly to core engineering projects.

  • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day management to your team, fostering an environment of growth and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in lead or engineering management roles.

  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (Version 7) and Python, or strong Python skills with recent Ruby experience within the last 5 years.

  • Experience working in a startup environment and leading senior software engineers.

  • A track record of individual coding (70-80%) and task delegation (20-30%).

  • Fluent in at least one mainstream programming language and proven experience in building and scaling complex applications.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
